Career and College Prep

Are you looking to get a jump-start on the future? With career and college prep courses, students can use their middle and high school years* to decide where they want to go and how to get there. In addition to core courses, students take career-focused electives to explore their options in high-demand fields. Students can also connect with industry professionals, prepare for certification exams**, and complete modern youth apprenticeships and internships—all while earning a high school diploma. Discovering professional interests now helps students prepare for success after graduation. We are currently enrolling students entering grade 9 for the 2023–2024 academic school year.*

Career Fields

Take career-focused courses in the high-demand career field of your choice:

Business, Management & Administration

Information Technology

You can also:

Participate in career clubs

Prepare to take industry-recognized certification exams upon graduation**

Gain workplace skills

PARTICIPATE IN CAREER CLUBS

PREPARE TO TAKE INDUSTRY-RECOGNIZED CERTIFICATION EXAMS UPON GRADUATION**

GAIN WORKPLACE SKILLS

Career Clubs

GADCA students can enroll in career clubs, also called career technical service organizations (CTSOs). CTSOs allow students with similar career interests to connect, practice professional skills, work on service projects, take field trips, and compete against other schools at the local, state, and national levels. In addition, teams from various schools compete against one another several times a year through competitions sponsored by one or more clubs.

Destinations Career Academy of Georgia offers the following CTSOs:

Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA)

Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda (FBLA-PBL) is the world's premier business career student organization.  Each year, FBLA-PBL helps over 250,000 members prepare for careers in business and business-related fields.  FBLA-PBL has four membership divisions: FBLA-ML for middle school, FBLA for high school, PBL for college, and the Professional Division for alums, business professionals, educators, and supporters.

*Destinations Career Academy of Georgia will enroll students in grades 6–9 for the 2023–2024 school year. We will add one additional grade per year until we serve all grade levels from 6–12.
**Many Microsoft®️ Office certificates can be earned after completing one course. Other certificates require more classes to be better prepared, and students who participate in the program for at least two years will have further preparation for certification testing.
